3 stoned in Iran, 10 more facing stoning
Women's Field / Stop Stoning Forever Campaign
13-Jan-2009 (7 comments)

During the last week of December, 3 men were stoned to death in Behesht Reza Cemetery in Mashhad for the crime of adultery. One of them, an Afghan citizen by the name of Mahmoud, managed to forcibly escape from the stoning pit and survived. Unfortunately, the other two men, one of whom is named Hushang Khodadaeh and another who remains unidentified, were killed, pounded mercilessly with stones. This is the latest such case since the stoning deaths of Jafar Kiani in June 2007, and Mahboubeh M and Abbas H in May 2006. In addition, there are presently at least ten others locked up in several prisons around the country who are in danger of being stoned to death:

People are getting killed by one the worst historical methods of slow and painful execution in your country and this is your reaction? :  "they just don't care to leave feedback for you. see the difference? "

Yes , I see the difference and that happens to be that you are talking totally inconsiderate nonsense! and also LOOK at first page stats: Most feedback!

I see the difference....but it's not the difference that you THINK you see, oh blind one.

I likely wouldn't have known about the stoning petition had the link not been posted here.

I don't twist arms. People can say or do whatever they choose. That's what freedom is really all about. That's the real definition. Not how you and others like you define it, which is "freedom" so long as it conforms to every facet of the tight little ideological box you have constructed.

You think I'm using another news item as leverage? What makes you think I take myself that seriously? I get enough of a workout (not to mention a laugh) watching all of you wannabe intellectuals take yourselves so seriously, with your false airs of pomposity, and overinflated senses of self-importance and self-righteousness.

I also don't look at any feedback on the news item I posted as feedback to me. Because it's not about me. The only feedback should be on the news itself. That's all that matters.

But obviously you can't tell the difference.

what a sad commentary on the priorities of iranians today. the hate exhibited towards israel could probably power the world for years! such a waste. i'm not making any excuses for israel but i just don't understand this ingrained, almost fanatic, hatred towards jews.

bless you both for providing news on what really SHOULD be our main concern.

It's nice to see you have twisted some people's arms into speaking of human rights now and signing their first petitions! well at the least that was an achievement.

Funny how one news item about shirine Ebadi becomes leverage to put down others for "not caring" looool

No Mr Dali, it's not that they don't care about Shirin Ebadi or the Islamic Republc's human rights issues, they just don't care to leave feedback for you.

see the difference?

Thanks for the link to the petition.

I know exactly what you mean about people caring. I posted a news item regarding Shirin Ebadi's secretary being arrested.

That thread and this one look lke two of the loneliest threads. It's as though this entire site was shut down. No one cares.
