Hezbollah urges Iraqi lawmakers to reject US pact

Lebanon's Iranian-backed Hezbollah group has called on Iraqi lawmakers to reject a security pact with the U.S. that would keep American troops in the country for another three years.

Thursday's statement by the militant Shiite Muslim group says the pact infringes on Iraq's sovereignty and will cause further damage to Iraq.

It says the pact, which still needs to be approved by the Iraqi parliament, would provide unwarranted legitimacy to the U.S. occupation.

Aakheh to ro sana na?

by News Goffer on

I know this is a very complicated issue and it couldn't be a completely fair one, but they should let Iraqis decide what they want to do.  If other countries in the region feel they should have a say about the matter, Lebanon's Hezbollah, itself a force funded by another country, should be the last one to talk.

Also see this Aljazeera TV video, which addresses the topic very well:

Really an amazing organization. Good for them. It's more Iran's business than the US, US or sanana? Last time I checked Iran was located next to Iraq...

Well mullahs want to have a say about everything

by Reality sucks (not verified) on

Haven't you realized that by now?

They want to rule the world not only the Islamic world but the non-lsamic world as well, thnaks to Dubya who got rid of Talebans and Saddam Hussein for them. Trita Parsi is asking America to share the ME with mullahs and I ahve npoticed that a lot of people on this site have emphasized this myth that Iran under the great leadership of mullahs is now a mighty force to reckon with and should have a say in how other countries in the ME are run, let alone the rest of the world.

At least America is an industrialized economic giant and therefore the sole superpower of the world, what is Iran under mullahs?!! the only thing mullahs have are astronomical oil revenues, a defunct ideology, and the terrorists who are on their payroll.
