TEHRAN, Iran – An Iranian government Web site is quoting a top Revolutionary Guards commander as saying Iran supplies weapons to "liberation armies" in the Middle East.

The report by Borna news provides the first official statement from a top military commander that Iran is providing weapons to armed groups in the Middle East.

Sunday's report quotes Gen. Hossein Hamedani, the deputy commander of a volunteer militia that is part of the elite Revolutionary Guards. Hamedani says Iran is self-sufficient in weapons production and is supplying arms to "liberation armies" in the region.

Hamedani did not provide further details, but Iran is widely believed to provide weapons to Lebanon's militant Hezbollah group.

To Baba (not Baba),

exactly right. Some Iranians have become so much anti U.S, pro IRI, pro Marxist, that they can't even see the truth in front of them.

Deliberately killing the innocent ain't Freedom Fighting

by To Baba (not verified) on

Killing innocent civilians DELIBERATELY by strapping bombs and exploding oneself is Terrorism, not freedom-fighting no matter what those who perpetrate these savage acts and their lackeys call it.

Besides, the most oppressed people in the world are the Iranian people themselves who need a "liberation army' of their own to get rid of their domestic "liberation army" providers.

Freedom Fighting is not Terrorism

by Baba on

Iran's naming the support of freedom fighters in Lebanon, Palestine, and elsewhere as "Liberation Armies" is a great step toward making the point to all oppressed around the world that there is help on the way, no matter what the oppressors or their lackies may call it -- terrorism or anything else.

Great future

by Sure Bet (not verified) on

Well If Obama wholeheartedly follows the advices of Zbigniew Brzezinsky , the father of the modern Islamic fundamentalism and his foreing policy advisor on the ME issues, I am sure we will soon see an Islamic Republic of Iraq emerging with Ayatollah Shahrooudi as its Supreme Leader, a whole lot of political prisoners in Iran will be silently hanged and eliminated, and Iranian people's civil and human rights will continue to be violated and completely ignored by the entire world. The rich and corrupt in Iran will become richer and more corrupt and the poor will become poorer and more miserable. At the end, Iran will be carved up.

Go Obama Go!

It's important to realize that Iran has become a powerful player about seven years, during Bush administration. Wrong policies and blind slogans has given Iran an increadible regional advantage that McCain will continue to do. Just before Bush takes office, Iran was worried that the US would take care of the IR, and to their surprise... You know the rest.

There is nothing more powerful as a force to the Iranian regime than the Republican strategy in the region, which along all its shortcomings has also made the US the "Great Satan" to the ethnic regional population. Who has benefited from that?

We do need a change. Only a fool falls in the same hole twice.

Go Obama

Imam Hussein is getting elected & mullahs are already getting braver , putting their cards on the table , knowing they have the  mullah side kick(Joe Biden, mullahs go to man, in washington) in the white house taking care of them via appeasement.
