Venezuela expels US ambassador

President Hugo Chavez has ordered the US ambassador to leave the country within 72 hours, in an act of solidarity with Bolivia, which also expelled its US envoy.

On Wednesday, Bolivian President Evo Morales declared the US ambassador to La Paz 'persona non grata', accusing the envoy of provoking separatism.

Also on Thursday, The US ordered the expulsion of Bolivia's envoy to Washington after Morales ordered the US ambassador to La Paz to leave the country.
