Toto was formed in 1976 by session musicans Jeff Porcaro and David Paich who had become well known for their work with Boz Scaggs and Steely Dan.  They brought in Steve Luthaker and Steve Porcaro for guitar and keyboards.  David Hungate became the bass player and Bobby Kimball was brought in for lead vocals to finalize this band which has had many hits and is still going strong.  Most of us remember "Africa" which was a particularly hot topic due to the aparthied regime.  (Remember Springsteens Sun City song?)
