Learning to be human
A trailer for the famous documentary by Khosrow Sinai "The Lost Requiem", telling the story of the Polish wartime exodus from the Soviet labour camps of Siberia to Iran. For many of the arriving refugees, Iran seemed like "paradise".

Tehran Children
by Ryszard Antolak on Wed Aug 19, 2009 10:21 PM PDTYou are probably referring to the "Tehran Children", a group of about 1000 orphaned Jewish children among the Polish refugees. This group returned to Israel in 1943.
The total number of Polish refugees who were evacuated to Iran in 1942 was between 150,000 - 200,000. The rest, well over a million, were compelled to remain behind in the Soviet Union against their will.
Polish Jews
by benross on Wed Aug 19, 2009 06:33 PM PDTI vaguely remember of my childhood about Polish Jews coming to Iran, most likely with the same group in the documentary, who then moved to Israel and back to Poland later on. Many of them died from diseases while in Iran. Anybody knows anything about it?
Thanks
