I agree Mehrban
by Fatollah on Fri Jan 27, 2012 01:57 AM PSTinstead people stride along with cheap shots from all directions!
she's done more for the cause with this single, yet powerful act, i.e. breaking the shackles of bondage! and I admire her for that!
I was hoping for more information in the form of quotation
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:40 PM PST... directly from her in regards to this matter, but thanks anyway.

The 28-year-old actress is posed in a black-and-white artistic editorial nude covering her breasts accompanied by an interview which she said, [Islam code is] "restricting the ability for Iran's film industry to push forward."
Could anyone please
by Multiple Personality Disorder on Wed Jan 25, 2012 08:30 PM PSTCould anyone please, post anything she said directly about why she bared it nude. Please have it in quotation marks, directly out of her mouth, about this matter only. Thank you. I intend to get to the bottom of this.
Brilliant verse

Why is Golshifteh's image with a bare breast so significant
by Mehrban on Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:08 PM PSTI will tell you why this act is so significant. And why it has captured all imaginations
GSF is not just anybody, she is a very loved actor of Iran, more importantly, she is a child of the revolution and was born and raised in the Islamic Republic.
IR's theme of ya roosari ya toosari (and other assults against women) has been turned on its head not by a porn star, not by a morally questionable and west trained actress (IR's moral code) but by one of its own legitimate and loved children.
The relationship between nudity and freedom is an old theme specially in the visual media of photography and painting, she has understood its power in the context of a sextually repressive and at the same time sextually obssesive regime.
Honestly, this act recorded through an image (permanent) is so powerful that symbolically it goes beyond women's issues of IR but the whole notion of disobedience of its dictatorial maxims.
One of the children of the revolution publicly and daringly has said NO!
It almost does not matter what she meant by her act but the image in the historical context takes on a life of its own.
That is huge. Look around you, if you don't believe me.
عالی! عالی!
