Talk for me, please
by Paymaneh Amiri on Thu Jun 25, 2009 04:03 AM PDTAn ordinary person's words cannot adequately relay the shock and pain caused by the recent brutalities unleashed upon the people of Iran. Images of young lives perished in the hands of blind self interest and a total disregard for human rights have left many of us speechless and bereft of any way to express our sorrow and grief.
Perhaps sometimes it is better to keep quiet and to reflect, letting poets and artists and writers talk about our shared angst. This is a beautiful poem, screaming the injustice but expressing the hope. I thought I would share it with you. Peace to Iran and its brilliant, courageous, and beautiful youth.
