Mehrban jan thanks

by Orang Gholikhani on

Mehrban jan, thanks for details. It is amazing, I've visited Sistine Chapel recently. it is huge and wonderful. it is full of great painting, I hadn't remarked this one.

My English is "light" so I didn't undrestand if you prefer rythme or content ?

Actually I made poems with rythmes and some critics told me this reduce their "complexity" and make them too common. So I try new aproach to create various variation. Wishing one day I'll fund the good one.

I should confess that I put many things from my day to day life in my poem and I don't expect others undrestand exactly what I mean! So if sometimes you don't catch, it is my fault and not yours :-)

The painting is

by Mehrban on

The temptation scene at the Sistine Chapel Ceiling by Michelangelo.

Beautiful painting and a very nice poem.  I generally lose my way in Orangs" poems as (it seems) that for me the musicality or a certain rhythm or tone of a poem takes precedent over its content, I am not sure why.

You are amazing

Orang jaan:

You are the only Iranian man (that I know) who is *aware* that the rotten nature of the male-female relationship in the Middle-East and the resistance to change that, is the foundation of all the personal, commuunal and national ills people of this region are experiencing. For that, I am honoured to be your friend.

Love,

Azadeh

I owe you some answers

by Orang Gholikhani on

Thanks Ahang, Souri and Azadeh Aziz for your comments and
happy you have appreciated this one. Initially I didn’t expect it could obtain such
reception.

Souri jan, there is no direct link between the mythology of
this painting and my poem. I searched for a picture related to initial sin and
I found this one beautiful. You could be confused if you try to interpret the
poem with painting.

Azadeh jan, My believing is that we have a cultural concern
with initial sin, sexuality , men women relationship, familly in our country. It has
been there before Iranian revolution and it is what brought us Islamic government.
We are not alone, Arabic countries have the same concerns and it is why after
Arab spring they have an Islamic Fall in Tunisia and Egypt.

It is so deeply rooted in our heads we don’t see it and we
cannot face it and resolve it. It is may be why it mirrors the state of mind of
you too, because becoming older and wiser, we understand how much errors we
made because we followed blindly all values brought by our culture (sex,
family, love,..) and made us what we are today. Don’t misinterpret, I don’t say
all values are wrong for everybody but the specificity of we (Iranians) is that
we follow them without thinking if they make sense personally for us. We impose
ourselves a model and do not imagine that it exist other ways.

Great poem

by Azadeh Azad on

Orang jaan:

This poem mirrors the state of mind of many, including myself. Yes, Death dances in ther Space. And because the Space is everywhere, death dances everywhere as well. So, the only place we can find Nowruz is within each of us.

I think you equate the Iranian Revolution with the Forbidden Apple in the image. Is that so?

Thanks for this powerful poem.

Azadeh

I didn't understand it well :(

But I am very keen to know the story of that painting. Do you know what does it talk about? Which story of the Mythology, is this explaining?

Thanks for sharing.
