Well it makes two of us Omid Hast
by divaneh on Sun Dec 13, 2009 04:23 PM PSTI sometimes tell myself a joke and laugh. I liked your joke, it shows that you hear what you like to hear.
Khaleh Mosheh, I was not aware of that "call girl principle", but its such a good term for service. You see, I learn something new everyday.
So okay then, the joke should've been heard, not read
by Omid Hast on Sun Dec 13, 2009 12:38 PM PSTYou see, if someone said it, instead of me reading it, I would've got it, because they would have said "No, I got one 'h'ear." with a slightly silenced 'h', and so I would've got it then, but nevertheless after the joke was explained, I laughed when I read it again. I am one of those rare people who can still laugh after jokes are explained to him. It happens to me a lot.

by khaleh mosheh on Sun Dec 13, 2009 12:25 PM PSTThanks for the links to Mona Lisa Hijabed pics- They did crack me up!
Please keep up the great work- I am definitely a fan of your cartoons.
PS- Divaneh Jan- The ear joke was good although I totally agree once explained the joke is no longer funny- A bit like the value of a service- once rendered its value immediately depreciates- I believe its termed the 'call girl principle' in business circles.
Dear divaneh, Okay, I got it now. Here is one for you:
by Omid Hast on Sun Dec 13, 2009 10:38 AM PST.
A woman on the cell phone is calling her lover,
The man: What! I can't hear you! You're breaking up. You got a boob job?
The woman: No! Not a boob job! I went for an interview and got a good job.
Dear Omid Hast
by divaneh on Sun Dec 13, 2009 08:53 AM PSTPerhaps because you have not come across dialect where H is sometimes dropped. So, replace the "ear" with "here" in van gough answer and it starts making sense. However, as you may agree, an explained joke is not funny.
Dear divaneh,
by Omid Hast on Sun Dec 13, 2009 08:32 AM PSTI didn't get the joke. Van Gogh has one ear so he can't hear well, so when the 1st person says "...do you fancy a beer?" He thinks the 1st person is saying "...do you fancy an ear?" So then, "fancy" must rhyme with someting else, which I don't get. I don't get it.
Dear khaleh mosheh,
by Omid Hast on Sun Dec 13, 2009 08:24 AM PSTIn case you haven't seen Mona Lisa in hijab, here are some pictures:

Also, Van Gogh'd right ear doesn't even appear in the original painting:

One Ear
by divaneh on Sun Dec 13, 2009 05:52 AM PST- Hey Vincent, do you fancy a beer?
- No, I got one ear.
I have examined
by khaleh mosheh on Sun Dec 13, 2009 04:56 AM PSTThe picture of Van Gogh with extreme care and in much detail and I am most indignant.
I am 100% convinced it is a fake and not for a minute believe that Van Gogh donned on the Hijab. The angle between the Hijab and his face is completely inconguent. The background is painted but the Hijab it self seems from a photo and the whole thing is probably photo-shopped.
Also if it had been a genuine picture we should have been clearly able to see his right ear, it would appear to me. What are we going to have next- Mona Lisa in Hijab giving a sly smile in support of the Green movement? Just what is the world coming to?
