How you can tell GREEN from green

How you can tell GREEN from green

The Green of protesters fighting for their rights in street of Iran is a unifying element. The green with its own agenda and mostly outside of Iran, is funded and diredted by elements that intend to divert the message from streets of Iran. Here is how you can tell the difference: at minute 7 and forward some small (reaaaaaally small) greens are identified by name.

Washington, DC "Greens" Had Islamic Republic Agenda

by Azadeh on

As recent as July 26, 2009, we have protest footage from Iran on YouTube showing Iranians in front of IRIB station in Tehran (Seda va Simhaa) chanting "Death to Islamic Republic" ("marg bar Jomhurieh Islami").  Yet in Washington DC, on camera, Babak Talebi says "People in Iran do not want a revolution...anyone who compares this to the '79 revolution is wrong...people in Iran only want reform within the system."  The organizer of the United4iran rally in Washington DC was Babak Talebi who apparently works for NIAC.  Trita Parsi was there too, but quickly ran away and bailed out of the rally as soon as rumors were whirling about who these organizers were and where their money was coming from. I've seen the video of Talebi with the above quote, but I can't find it on YouTube...if anyone finds it, please post.  These are BAD BAD GREENS trying to manipulate messages of Iranian protesters!

i have problem with both

by hamsade ghadimi on

i have problem with both sides in this demonstration:

the "flag" people seem to be stubborn and not respecting the majority's wishes. they bring the largest flag possible when they're asked not to bring any flag. as if the larger the flag, the more convincing is their claim that they're a larger voice than they actually are.  it's a sort of schoolyard dahan kaji (making faces).  and anyone who doesn't agree with them... well, they must be 'basiji'...

the problem with some of the so-called "green" people is that they want to make this dissent into an exclusive club. while we talk about democracy, we should not be unreasonable about people's method in showing their patriotism and solidarity. by unreasonable, i mean the use of flags.  although, then we might have to grapple with people bringing life-size picture of rajavi, shah, or mousavi and try to outdo each other on the size and number of their ideological symbols.  i also wonder how some of the "green" people feel about those iranians who did not vote but are there to support the people in iran? i know one of them in the first march in dc told me (while referring to the "flag" people): "they didn't even vote!"

my solution: i think the two sides should unite. i think both sides should show some flexibility. use small flags. agree on what slogans not to say. agree whether it's a good thing to be waving american flags or wearing cia hats. after all, if we are striving for a democracy, then we are expecting (and hoping) all these groups who are against the iri regime will one day coexist with each other.
