"I kissed a girl." No, it's not what you think. It's simply the title of the recent hit song by Katy Perry, the quirky and very talented singer I want to introduce in this blog.  A while back, I blogged about my new favorite band, the Gym Class Heroes. Coincidentally, Katy Perry happens to be the girlfriend of Gym Class Heroes' frontman Travis McCoy and she appeared in his video for the song "Cupid's Chokehold." (She is the one on roller skates towards the end of the video). 

These two are a match made in heaven.  Two truly original singer-songwriters whose lyrics are as funny as their hook is catchy.  You can't help but fall in love with a song tribute to an ex that begins with "I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf" like Katy does in her addictive single from last year, "You're so gay." I dare you to watch the video below and not die laughing.  This is one instance when ROFL is not a hyperbole.

Yes, Katy is just as pissed off as Alanis Morissette and her Jagged Little Pill or Carly Simon's You're So Vain but instead of rage, she uses her sharp as a knife sarcasm to ridicule the object of her wrath.  And she does it all with such a Minnie Mouse cuteness!
