F: NIAC on a good day, is a narrow lobby group of a few hundred with not much of an impact, especially when it comes to the Iranian-American issues.

F: What amuses me about Trita is that he thinks that by talking to some low level IR representative like the UN guy Zarif, he can somehow influence the US-Regime relationship! He fails to understand that even Ahmadi has no saying on that topic. Only Rahbar and the small circle around him are in control of that topic and everyone else is "vel moa`tal!"

MK: I agree with you that IRI policy toward the U.S. is made by Khamenei and his inner circle. Zarif does what he is ordered to do by higher ups in Khamenei’s office. Trita Parsi could provide information to Zarif, and Zarif could relay that to higher ups.

The question is WHAT did Trita Parsi tell Zarif? And what Zarif told TP? What was the purpose of their meetings? What (material) benefits TP provided Zarif? What (material) benefits Zarif provided Trita Parsi?

I have not read anything on why TP met Zarif. These came out in the law suit between TP and Hassan Dai. The question is WHY NIAC did not disclose these on its website in the past many years???????

what is it to you guys? Dr. MK is opposed to NIAC: that is fine. But then he turns around and praises MEK. What is going on here? Is it that NIAC is hated because it is opposed to MEK and their Neocon backers.

If NIAC is so insignificant then why get so worked out about it. Go ignore them and let them fade into anonymity. If they are popular then they must be doing something right. One way or other I don't trust the motives of NIAC opponents.

I do not know where NIAC got my e-mail from.

What is wrong is that NIAC stating that those on its e-mail list are NIAC’s "active supporters."

Dear GR,

Unfortunately, this blog was not featured. I think my blog includes hard data on NIAC. The information in the blog also raises some interesting questions.

I do not think the term "exaggerate" is the correct term. I think to exaggerate 600 one would think of 650, or 800, or 900. But from 600 to 10,000 in my opinion one should use other terms. Perhaps a term like "lying" might be more appropriate.

What is clear is that in their website NIAC claims to have 4,000 paid members (in Dec 2010), but in their own board meeting, they report that the dues paying members (in Feb 2008) was 1068. And under oath, Trita Parsi in May 2011 says the number of actual members was about 1,000.

Could one use the term "deception" to describe NIAC’s own number of "4,000 paid members" on its site?

Could one use the term "deception" to describe NIAC’s statement of "43,000+ active supporters" as description of those in its e-mail list???????? I am on NIAC’s e-mail list, which NIAC got it from some source. And I am NOT a support of NIAC; actually I strongly oppose NIAC.

I think this raises the question of credibility.

1. If NIAC misrepresents the number of its own actual members, does it also misrepresent other things? Could a reasonable person believe other things NIAC says.

2. NIAC did not disclose that Trita Parsi had sooooooo many contacts with Zarif. What other IRI officials have NIAC members met and discussed issues with, that NIAC has not disclosed?

3. Is there a pattern of misrepresentations and deceptions by NIAC?

how many people attend 'hamayesh bozorg?'  niac also sends unsolicited emails to all i.com members including me.  add them together and you get a rough approximation. organizations typically use their emailing list.
