This is your own judgment and I do not share it with you. Although we all,
are very proud of being Iranian and try or at least tend to use the
real Persian words in our conversation today, but we can' t tear apart
from our historic past, dear. Our littliterature has been mixed with the the
Arabic language somewhere in the past, to our dislike.
Unfortunately, there are some words in other languages which are more meaningful or at
least more familiar to our ears, than their equivalent in Persian. I
believe what you mean is, to trying hard to read and write only in
Persian ? This is a very good idea, but this is very hard for
an Iranian poet of today, who indeed lives outside of the motherland.
This is a linguistic job and a poet can' t always be so keen to preserve it
at all prices (not that they don' t try or don' t want it, but they just can' t)
Even in the past, we had only Ferdowsi who succeed in this way, but we have had also Hafez and S'adi and
many others who wrote poems in the two languages and mixed the words,
yet we always value them highly and not less than Ferdowsi.
For my taste, this is a very nicely said poem and looks a lot like the Ghazaliat Hafez and other ancient poems. Now, if you are obsessed with our
language, I do understand your point, but as I said, I do not share it
with you in this matter.

I think the poet sold himself very torrahat to Arabs,,if someone has a roots it would not use the foreign word to express himself.. Unfortunately many iranian poets from past to present have lost their identity,, har taraf ke bad omad anha ham raftanded.
Thank you

And always thank you

Torrahaat means cheap, wrong, and illogical coverstaions or claims. Even today, this word is widely used as sarcasm. Perhaps, it orginally meant something precious. Mamaat means death. I beleive both of these words have Arabic roots. The spellings are correct.
Always me ...
by Souri on Thu Jul 03, 2008 12:49 PM CDTNo need to say how much I loved this one too !
Two words I didn't understand here:
"torrahat ??" and "mamat??"
(not sure about the spelling)
This poem has a very rich meaning and root in the Persian litterature.
Bravo !
