I Love this Cat Stevens Song
by Darius KADIVAR on Sun Jul 06, 2008 04:55 PM CDTI like the Ballads which remind me of the songs of the Middle Ages:
Lady d'Arbanville
There is something very Romantic about his song and voice.
I read that he changed a great deal of his radical views and the fact that he got back to his real vocation that is singing is really great and encouraging
I think he was lost in soal searching and some artists often go through such phases. What is important is to survive and most importantly learn from the experience itself. It seems to be the case for Cat Steven aka Yusef Islam.
In anycase he has great songs to his credit.

by Khar on Sun Jul 06, 2008 12:23 PM CDTNot all Muslims are fascists and far from it, you should not condemn all for deeds of few. If he can touch some of those impressionable young Muslims with his music and bring them to the main stream he has done great, don't you think? By the way we all supported Khomeini at the beginning in 1979 (even Jimmy Carter did) and we all supported Bush after 9/11, now we all know better, don’t we?! Besides music transcends beyond Ideology and the man and woman who make them. Remember Googoosh she sang in praise of Imam but that did not change her music you and I still listen to and love her music. Let’s think out side the box shall we, life is not black and white!
Peace!
