Very nice clip, thank you
by amigo19 on Fri Dec 09, 2011 07:21 PM PSTVery nice clip, thank you Faryar, How deeply sad it is to witness so much injustice and cruelty and yet not to be able to see and end to that, I hope and I long to be able to see freedom, justice ,and love to flourish in our beloved Iran and our countrymen be able to live in harmony together.

Luke's Inspiration..
by faryarm on Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:01 PM PSTI have listened to luke’s song numerous times in the last 48 hours... like others here, one can’t but be affected by the Spirit that has moved him to write the words below ... having contacted Luke, I added some references as links that might indicate why Luke is so concerned and connected to Iran and the suffering of who he considers as his spiritual brothers and sisters.
Luke Slott is a composer and songwriter from Dublin. He began playing music at the age of twelve, learning jazz trumpet from his father, and spent several years as lead-singer with Irish rock band Melaton. Over the years, Luke has drawn much love and inspiration from the history and writings of the Bahá’í Faith.

Come down and walk these roads around
the city of Tehran
where seven candles burn.
Follow me
all you who claim to be
possessed of charity
down to the Crimson Sea.
One hundred thousand veils have covered the sun
and darkest clouds have blocked and blackened the blue sky.
Did you hear the fate
of those who educate,
who even in the grave
find no respite from hate?
Have you seen the youth
who gave their lives for truth,
that girl who kissed the noose
and welcomed all abuse?
One hundred thousand suns have fallen to earth
with blasts that block the ears from hearing the new song.
One hundred thousand veils have covered the truth.
How many mothers’ cries are lost in the tumult?
There is no war to fight
You have no sacred right
No holy book to cite
To make these wrongs seem right.
Does it so offend
to want this world to mend,
to walk in hope to the end
and see each man a friend?
Come down
and walk these roads around
the cities of Iran
which boast so much to man.
Thanks for sharing

Music to move the spirit
by daryoush38 on Thu Dec 08, 2011 08:23 PM PSTThis just goes to show the profound, moving power of music IMO. He sings with such force and passion, and yet so gently and tenderly, like a love poem. That kind of gentleness helps me to reaffirm my faith in the beauty of the human spirit, especially in this time when we hear the dogs of war barking loud all around us. If only we could all raise our voices so melodically, that we might melt the hearts of those who seek to oppress the downtrodden.
Passionately Powerful!
by XsorpassoX on Thu Dec 08, 2011 07:56 PM PSTImperssive! Such sound and wonderous presence by a youthful crooner for us all to enjoy. Made me proud of his taking a stand about a foreign culture/people when he could just as easily have sold out to domestic commercialism.
Bravo!
why? Because he is Irish!
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Thu Dec 08, 2011 05:37 PM PSTNot Joking. I found Irish a very passionate and caring people in general. During my student days in London, a fellow student from Ireland, explained to me that during an event called "potato famine", an event brought about allegedly by the British rulers of Ireland, millions of Irish either died of starvation or migrated to the new world. This event left such scar in Irish psyche which makes them rather sensitive to other people's sufferings, regardless of race or nationality.
"Personal business must yield to collective interest."
