Future of Iranian Divorce Lawyers in L.A.

The divorce rate in California is around 40%. There are many ways to track, record and analyze divorce. But as a rule of thumb, 4 out of every 10 marriages in California end in divorce in the first 10 years.

The wife of one of my closer friends is a psychologist in L.A. She started her practice in early 1990s. In the begining, she would have been happy if she had 3 or 4 patients a day. She now sees 10-12 patients a day at $150 per 45 minute session. She has a secretary which is paid $10 and hour and pays $1000 for rent every month. No advertising, no workman's comp, no nothing else. You would think life is good. But no I found out!

She is selling her pratice and is planning to teach at a junior college for less than half of what is she making now. Why I asked in amazement when we talked this past weekend. This is was she told me:

Majority of us Iranians live for their children. Specially normal middle or upper middle class couples who typically have 2 kids. It seems like a great many of these couples who have been married for 10, 15 or 20 years are basically waiting for their kids to graduate from college before they file for divorce. Although they are very unhappy with their married life, they basically don't want to distrupt the lives of their kids until they graduate from college. She thinks the divorce rate for the Iranian community in the next 5 to 10 years will be over 50%.

My friend's psychologist wife was seeing so many unhappy men and women (mostly women) every day that it was having an effect on her life; no matter how professional, objective and unattached she had tried to deal with these issues.

The thought that corss my mind was that with 25000-30000 baby boomer middle class couples in LA and Orange county Iranian divorce lawyers are looking at a very prosperous future.

Everyone it's thinking just at SEX! I can't understand them....it's very important in a persons life but I can't believe that some people want to see divorce persons just to have sex. Maybe they need something else too.

I think the reasons are dependencies and abuse

by Sheila K on

Here are some of the reasons: the family interferences, verbal and often physical abuse, and some other psychological reasons like paranoia, bad beenie, shakaki, control freakness, and the list goes on and on and on....

Need I say more?

What is the reason?

by Nahid Shafiei on

I am really interested to know what the reason is for so many
Iranian couples in Los Angeles ending in divorce. Does your friend's
wife (the psychologist) know? Is is infidelity? Financial problems?
Domestic violence? Abuse? Or is it the breeze that comes from Hollywood
towards Westwood?

I seriously am interested in knowing.
