They are not satan
by skatermom (not verified) on Sat Apr 12, 2008 06:17 PM CDTThey are not satan worshippers for crying out loud. Thanks for the link on what a pentagram is. However the one you showed is the symbol that element clothing uses for a particular skate brand. Notice the Mickey Mouse ears. A pentagram historically starting with paganism in the ancient world symbolized the 5 elements. In Christianity the 5 wounds of Christ. In ancient Greece for the goddess Venus and wisdom and so on and so forth. Allister Crowley (the founder of the modern day occultism) used it in his book because he was a wiccan. You're absolutely correct in that they need to excercise their freedom of religion but don't go half cocked and say there satan worshippers. These little kids are just talking out their ass for attention against the status quo. As for the taxi driver he may have been a Baha'i or a member of the free masons. Both of which use the PENTAGRAM as their official symbols.
Calm down...
by Internets on Sat Apr 12, 2008 06:16 PM CDTLook here, whilst it may be cool for the youth of Northern Tehran to pretend to be Satan worshippers, in reality, I very much doubt it (whether I have been to Iran recently or not!) if even 0.1% of these youth practice in the REAL rituals of Satan worshipping. If you have any evidence that anyone practices even simple stuff such as biting off some poultry's head or bat's head, please present your case (nailing people to the Cross et al, would be a more solid form of evidence). Otherwise, take it for what it is: dumb and bored youth who are from the comfy and affluent suburb of North Tehran, with nothing better to do or capable of doing. I stick to my initial observation, i.e, "wankers" exercising "mating rituals".
They are satan-worshippers
by They are satan-worshippers (not verified) on Sat Apr 12, 2008 03:09 PM CDTThe People commenting here apparenly havent been to Iran in a LONG TIME. I met a LOT Of kids who would wear the satan worship sign around their neck and taxi drivers who had them as well.
This sign hee:

The kids themselves acknowledged it, and our commentators here on Iranian.com want to project their own ideas. The kids who had it, didnt view it as bad thing. Notice that those who are saying they arent satan worshippers, view satan worshipping as bad. thats the whole point. you are still working within the Islamic Republic's framework. if you believe in freedom, one should be equally free to worship Satan as well as someone who worships God.
The Iranian Martin Bashir?!.
by Internets on Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:23 PM CDTI swear that the guy in front of the camera is a Martin Bashir wannabe (ABC's Nightline anchor). What a crock of shiite!!!. Satan worshippers?. Homosexuality? Come on, these are just kids bored out of their brains exercising mating rituals. After all, it is the mating season (all 4 seasons!). This is just the form that art imitates nature. Haven't you seen male species in the animal kingdom becoming "expressive" when they want to mate?. This is the human form of the same self-expression.
Oh one further observation about homosexuality: I doubt it very much that just because these youth are into "edgy" styles and fashions, they practice homosexuality!. If anything, the homosexuals in Iran hide their homosexuality for fear of grave repercussions. No these kids are not gravitating toward homosexuality. If anything, they are "monosexuals", meaning that at the end of the day, they end up having sex in the good old fashion way of giving themselves the "relief". LOL.
Gene Simmons might be a good role model after all
by my2cents_ (not verified) on Sat Apr 12, 2008 09:59 AM CDTConviniantly they forgot to mention "Gene Simmons" the main member of KISS (who happned to be Jewish) has never drank alcohol, used drugs or smoked. He might after all be a good rol model for these teens. You can read his bio at IMDB.com
Of course!
by Kamangir on Sat Apr 12, 2008 04:36 AM CDTThis is simply one of the many social ills, as a result of repression.
I love it! Come on people I
by skatermom (not verified) on Sat Apr 12, 2008 04:09 AM CDTI love it! Come on people I guarantee I'm older than anyone who's responding to this. Back in 1985 I had blue hair. I used 3 cans of Aqua Net Extra Super hold to achieve this. My Persian parents loved it. They didn't care how we expressed ourselves as long as we were in bed and sober by midnight. Now I'm a suburban mom and president of the PTA. A little extra hair gel isn't going to make our kids slaughter goats in the back yard and worship the dark prince. I'm only saddened by the fact that Iranian girls can't partake in a little self expression. Those chadors would be a killer on some good old fashioned liberty spikes.
Please take the stick out of your arse
by TonynGuy (not verified) on Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:34 AM CDTIt is only normal for teens to want to experiment with their looks and have the desire to stand out. Everyone does it at some point in their teens in some shape or form. People express themselves in many ways. Teenage years are when most people have the urge to express their individuality. There is nothing wrong with their hairstyles.
This has nothing to do with satanic rituals or the band KISS. The commentary in this "documentary" is plain retarded. Old farts also used to stand out in their teens when they were this age but they either forgot it all in their senile state of mind or they're in denial.
