My daughter Taylor started college about month ago and I have missed her very much. Home seems quiet and empty. Thank God for email and cell phones. It seems like yesterday that my parents gave me a ticket and few thousand dollars and sent me to US. It was almost 14 years later before I saw them again. I was going through my videos today and I found this clip of Taylor when she was just 2 years old watching herself in the TV, how time flies!

I completely understand how you felt when you watched this video. And now she's at college .... milestones in her life and yours. enjoy them because these moments are something you'll look back on one day too.

You must be so proud!

Going back and looking at old videos and pictures is dangerous.  When my son was overseas, I made a DVD for his 21st birthday.  It took me weeks to scan over 600 pictures.  Then arranging them and setting music to them took another month.  I previewed the DVD with my husband, my son's father and his god-mother.  There wasn't a dry eye in the house.  Even my son was emotional when he saw it.

There is no love like the love of a parent for their child.

Thanks for sharing these moments with us, Bahram! She is beautiful and you have every right to miss her. My son left home for college last week, too. As parents, we know they'll be back, but the new chapter in their lives also marks a brand new chapter in ours which is confusing and sad and joyful all at the same time. Just when we thought we were done growing, there's more stuff for us to learn with which to grow. I wish your family and your daughter the very best in life. We must all look forward to the new joys these new chapters will bring all of us. Maybe I should go pull out my old videos and look at my sons telling me ghesseye khaleh sooskeh tonight. A lot more growing is in store, it seems.
