Sounds like a great celebration! I saw Maz Jobrani in San Francisco last Fall. He is not only extremely talented and funny, he is such a wonderfully warm Iranian, a very nice man. It's clear to me that the Iranian community in California ans San Francisco or LA is a very well stablished community with strong Iranian cultural centers. However, here in Vancouver, the large Iranian population differs a lot from what you are used to in California.  The community here is not settled properly, with new waves of new comers (mostly from the tazeh be doran residegan sectors) of Iran, all you see around are concerts here and there. There's no cultural center, despite the fact the Iranian community here is very wealthy. I'm sorry if I'm sounding negative here, but I wish the Iranians here had more cultural inclinations instead of showing off their recently acquired wealth.
