Back in June when all this current election aftermath started and the original rallies in support of the protesting Iranians and eventually regime change were being held internationally, this idea of fake unity was first debated. In my research it seems to have originated with the 99.9% trash on Tehrangeles (Los Angeles, CA) television and factions of French Iranian activists. By fake unity I mean forcing or coercing Iranians to unite under one flag or no flag at these so called “Freedom” rallies.

Unfortunately, these organizers do not understand the basic principles of Freedom. A clear example was recently posted on Iranian.com:

“We ask that you please not bring nation flags. We all love our countries and their symbols but at this action we strive for a united event with a message that doesn’t appear factional. We offer people the option of a green-white-red flag with no emblem in the middle or with a positive text.”

(On a tangent WTF does this mean: “We all love our countries”; I thought this was about Iran, a country)

Do you see the inherent problem with us Iranians? We have never had real Freedom so no one knows what it is. Asinine! I can read a book and understand a concept or ideology; maybe these so-called organizers should first understand what they are advocating before they advocate it. That is if they are actually advocating Freedom for Iran.

As an Iranian, I hereby invite every human being that believes in the struggle for Human Rights and Liberties to attend the UN rally; and everyone attending may voice their beliefs as they deem fit.

Of course there is democracy here (and in NY), so if you want to have a rally under your own flag, bi-zahmati please arrange your rally and invite whoever wants to stand with you and your flag.

oh but just don't forget everyone who organizes a rally needs to apply for permit and register with the city. So just inviting people to someone else's rally but changing their rules is not how democracyworks

- I did not tell anyone to crash nor did I tell anyone to boycott or not to attend. So if you want to accuse me at least do it based on my actual meritts or lack thereof.

I did however invite everybody to Rally at the UN without imposing my own rules upon them. As you are aware under US Federal, NY State and NY City law, all people can rally or protest without the permission of your group or any other flag-hating (lol) group. So no one's crashin' yo party babe, because it's not your party; everyone has a right to speak their voice in a democracy. Let's not forget that point with all this flag waving or not waving business.

One thing I am sure has lost its definition at least on this website, especially when it comes to the demonstrations is the word "democracy'.

The rally is setup by people who are asking you to join them if you support the green movement in Iran and they also ask you not to bring your flags.

Crashing their rally and bringing your own flags or claiming that they are not democratic is not the right thing to do.

Of course there is democracy here (and in NY), so if you want to have a rally under your own flag, bi-zahmati please arrange your rally and invite whoever wants to stand with you and your flag. But to take your flag to someone else's program when they asked you not to, doesn't show that you're democratic, just proves that you have no respect for other people's choices and opinions.

By all means go ahead and call for a boycott of the demonstrations. But then don't blame people for not standing by you and against the Iranians inside Iran. Don't get upset if you see many have joined the rally against AhmadiNejad despite your pouting and crying foul.

For 30 years people have waitied for the day they can show power in their numbers. People who try to decrease this number are doing AN a big favor.

The Issue of Flag and the Protests

The Guardianship of Jurisprudence, in the person of Ayatollah Khamenei, with an army of Basijis & Hezbollah to enforce its tyranny, has declared that it has a right (not only to act as our judge, jury, and prosecutor all at once) but "to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER" and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious; for so unlimited a power can belong only to God. [I have borrowed the above paragraph written by Thomas Paine on Dec. 23, 1776, which aptly applies to us and Iran these days. Thomas Paine’s writing is in bold font.].


This is not the time to argue over what flag we should gather under or who should be included in our protests against violations of civil and human rights in Iran. This is not the time to draw lines and create divisions in our ranks, as such behavior tolls the bells of our defeat. This is not the time to point fingers of accusations or label one another.


This is the time to unite. This is the time to put to practice the attributes of democracy which each one of us for so long have declaratively held so dear and have beat our chests for it in every opportunity and in every place. We all know that democratic change in Iran is impossible without the change of our culture: a move away from patriarchy and andrarchy; a move away from distrusting and/or labeling one another without reason & justification; a move away from being suspicious of one another and each other’s motives without undeniable evidence; a move away from relying and/or participating in rumors and divisive behavior.


Let’s try to practice trusting each other until & unless a definite cause & evidence shows otherwise; let’s trust one another’s motives; let’s respect each other’s point of view and the right of one another to freely express our point of view without fear or subjugation to the tyranny of majority. Let’s practice a love for truth and truth-seeking. Let’s stop labeling one another without undeniable evidence. Let’s affirm the humanity and the good will of each other. Let’s be positive and forward-looking. Let’s trust, value, and promote honesty and trust in honesty & truthfulness of one another.


Let’s practice the ancient motto of our ancestors: good thoughts, good words, and good acts.


If we fail to make these changes among us, and if such desperately needed cultural change does not become widespread and established in our native Iran, we can have no hope of democracy, and no expectation of the revival of our enlightened civilization, in Iran.

I've heard that Sepah is trying to infiltrate the sites where Iranians use to exchange ideas and organize for further actions against the illegitimate fascists ruling our country. The overall objective is to dismantle the green movement.

Iranians knew about Freedom before anyone else, We were among the first human-right nations. We don't need anyone to give us lessons about that. Three months ago, more than 100 people died in their battle against cruelty and that without the help of anybody.

Before, any manifestation in favor of a Free Iran. Ask yourself who will benefit from your inaction? If Mahmoud goes to N.Y. and continues his nasty speech against the free world and in front, there is nobody to protest against his illegitimate presence, who has won the battle? People or Mullahs?

The people of Iran

The people of Iran are dying while trying to fight oppression and dictatorship. You either support them or you are fighting against them.

So what if this is the biggest movement for freedom that our country has seen in the past 30 years? So what if nobody else has been able to mobilize such crowds inside and outside Iran? I guess since it's success did not depend on your group then you have to work against it and try to destroy it!
