Let me tell you even "I" could do modern art... and I have... it is hagging in the living room(some people have even bah-bah and chah-chahed about the amazing colors!)... and I Can Not draw!!!

High quality art never goes out of style (it does for those who can't see beyond new movements and blindly follow what is in style only). I prefer these over modern art, unlike Iman, most painters of that genre lack true talent. (I sense some jealousy by certain commentators here)

Average paintings

I don't understand all this buzz over these average paintings...

Maybe critic has exaggerated a bit, but I think he's right. The Photo-Realism movement (that appeared in 60's and 70's) is a movement of the past, But it is true there are a few Americans still left repeating the same style, but anyway Aemricans have never been the norm in the modern Art scene.

I think the artist needs to push a little bit farther to find his own true originality, otherwise these work would be only apprecaited in the living room of a few rich people, and not in the Art museums of Paris or even New York.

I'm proud to call you my hamvatan! your talents are amazing! It's too bad that you may not be able to get the most of them with the environment in iran.

Enjoy it for what what it is.

I really enjoyed these paintings.The subjects are preoccupied and lost in some activity, giving them a blissful grace. They are put out of contact with the viewer i.e. something between a Renaissance and a more contemporary Edward Hopper painitng. Current masters in realism, artists such as Lucian Freud achieve extreme realism by painting subjects over a very long period with their subjects posing for them sometimes for several years.Other than excellent skills I suspect that you would need the use of devices such as Camera Lucida, or a projector with very high definition slide photographs along with some free hand study sketches to achieve this level of reality.I don't think this would diminish from the work; you can still enjoy it even if you have been trained to think that spontaneous brush strokes of a Matisse or Picasso painting are the way art should be and, as long as you make a connection with the work that is what matters. By the way according to David Hockney old masters such as Ingres also used Camera Lucida.I do not complain when I look at a Naeen or Ghom Carpet or think that an IKEA or a contemporary carpet designer in Kings Road London produces something superior, I know each has its own place. If anything they will become paintings for the contemporary Iranian period. We may not like this period but we can still enjoy the art that comes from it.

Comparing realism in painting to photography was said and done early in the 20th century Mr. critic. your statement in regards to these paintings is so cliche..I suggest you take a look at a few schools of contemporary 21st century painting only to find great works of realistic painting in its own genre. your statement really belongs to the previous century and its preoccupation with constantly trying to limit painting to particular styles and limited definitions.

By the same token, perhaps you can take a good look at contemporary photography only to find its boundaries pushed well out of the the realm of mirroring life in digital media.

Realism may not have the same popularity as it once did, however, it is one of the greatest and most difficult form of paitings.

Brilliant works. And dont listen to assholes like "critic" here. Most likely, he is one of those so called "artists" who throws paint on a canvas randomly and calls himself "artist".

This guy is very talented, but he just needs to discover his style. He needs to push his boundries beyond the "had-been" realsitic style and make a statement that hasn't been expressed before..push for it, reach for it, you're very good. And get beyond Katouzian, way beyond...get exposed to different people, different ideas.

realistic painting is one of the painting in west or in canada they do not have so many buyer's because most of the art gallery in this country run by not professional painter or better they do not understand the painting and color's, more they supporting Abstract, I was try and I did few realistic and give a way free , not sold soon I start to change my art work's crazy and create abstract , now I have some chance to sale my painting and calligraphy mixed as abstract, stay in Iran your art work in canada or USA do not have any buyer's

Use a camera! Get better results!

As famous expression says: Moorche chee-eh ke kaleh paache-ash chi baashe!...Forget Katoozian..he is just another worthless businessman/naghaash..a baazaari .

These paintings are worthless...now that you learned the rules of painting like a camera, it is time to break the rules and come up with the real Art (art of 21st century!)...
