The Canadian Festival of Spoken Word came to Victoria, British Columbia, on November 10th for a 5-day event. The festival featured the National Slam (over 60 slam poets and performers from across Canada) as well as open mics, workshops, late night showcases, and renowned spoken word artists such as C.R. Avery, Andrea Thompson, the Fugitives and Sherry D. Wilson. These are some of the poets whom I photographed and asked to write a poem for this photo essay. 12 next › last »
