My mother-in-law has this obsession with "khoroos" and that is why she has rooster decorations everywhere :) at her house. I was bored at her house and decided to take pictures of her "khorooses":)

My mom too has a fondness of roosters and I come to find out that is to do with her childhood memories growing up in Shomal and waking up every morning to the neighbour's rooster that functioned as a natural alarm clock. My artistic urge arose and I drew her a colorful rooster for mother's day, but it was soo ugly that she lost all interest. Sorry Mom!

Just curious, I just want to know why you don't express your objection in a rational and nice manner to her. It is just not healthy to put up with so much and bottle it up.

Change those roosters to "cats", and give them "life", add several more objects like thermometers, clocks, mouse pads, sleeping gowns, sweaters, sneakers, dishes, dolls, blankets, (I could go on forever), and you've got "my" mother-in-law's old house. And now imagine all the above moving in to my house.

I love your mother-in-law. She's cool!

I have a relative in Los Angeles who also collects all sorts of khoroos stuff. A few years ago he gave me a bottle of wine with his own special khoroos lable! He has a website with the khoroos logo :o)
http://khorsheed.com/

He's a veteran broadcaster. You might have heard his name on the radio and seen him on satellite TV channels: Farrokh Javid. He has a program on KSRI 24 hour Iranian radion called "Daily Khorsheed":

These were pretty cute! I enjoyed looking at the pictures, and the different "khorooses" are tasteful, not gaudy at all. Thank you for sharing.
