Congrats But Any Plans of Going Online ? ...

by Darius Kadivar on

Congradulations but when will it go ONLINE ...

Iranica is such an important achievement that it also deserves to go Online in our Internet Age of Global Access to information.

It would also make it a more reliable source than Wikipedia.

Best to you Prof.Yarshater for your Amazing and valuable contribution.

Thank you for sharing this good news of celebration.

I enjoyed seeing pictures of some of the pioneers in Persian language.  May they live to be over hundred years.

Contributers to Iranica !

by ebi amirhosseini on

There is no doubt that the work Prof.Yarshater has done for more than half a century for Iranian cultur, language is priceless & nobody can say otherwise .But,let's not forget that hundreds of academic individuals with expertise on Iranian studies, from around the world have dedicated their tiresome efforts in form of articles, notes &..... to Encyclopedia Iranica. During my graguate studies at Tehran university, faculty of Old Persian Culture & Languages,I had the honor of attending the classes of some of world renouned experts on Iranian studies & contributers to Iranica, specially Late Dr Taffazolli one of the greatest authorities on Pahlavi language, who was killed by the Aniraan( non-Irani) murderers during the Serial Killings in Iran. Hope the rest of them are still ok,since it is more than 15 years that I havenot had any news from them. Here are the names of some of them that I can remember:

1- Prof. Mohsen Abolghaasemi expert on: Avesta,Aasi & middle persian languages.

2-Prof. Zhaaleh Aamuzgar ( co-writer of many books with late Dr.Taffazzoli), expert on Pahlavi language & culture of Iran .

3- Prof. Ghareeb, expert on Old persian & Soghdi Languages.

4- Late Prof. Mehrdad Bahar ( son of Malekolshoaraa Bahar),expert on Pahlavi language & Iranian mythology.

5- Prof. kataayoon Mazdaapoor, expert on Pahlavi language.

And many others, who dedicate their time, talent & life to promote Iran through helping Iranica, although not Iranian, but they all love

the Iranian Languages & culture.

May god help them all.

Let's wish them all GOOD LUCK.
