No Political Agenda

by parade watcher as well... (not verified) on

I believe that the parade had no political agenda whatsoever and strongly feel that the only aim that these men and women, who went through all the trouble in creating this parade, were only trying to show americans, iranian americans, and iranians the beauty of our culture. A flag does not represent the people, only the character of the people do. With the efforts in the creation of the parade and the great showing that came to see this parade it is evident that our people would have great love for our country despite what is on our flag.

How are we ever going to remedy what ails our country when we argue over a flag, those that are arguing are the ones that are attempting to make political statements...

All of the members of the NYPP had armbands that were green, white and red with no lion or sun...

Throw useless political arguements away and love your country...for what it was...what it is...and/or what it can be...

Remove the Lion and the Sun

by John Carpenter III (not verified) on

Iran has had many flags.

The lion and the sun was the 20th century flag up to February 11, 1979.

On 2/11/1979 the flag changed. The UN, EU, NATO, and every country in the world has accepted the new flag.

If you are going to display an Iranian flag then remove the "lion and the sun".

The flag should be just a green, white and red flag. Any other flag is just stupid.

Are you people running the parade trying to make a stupid political statement?

No one in Iran accepts that flag as the current Iranian flag. The modern Iranian passport does not have that symbol.

To put that symbol on a flag is like making the statement that the earth is flat.
