Green Train to Tabriz

1969/70 existed next to the pool a Camping Place. nearly all campers were strangers. Yound and old. some were merchants, some other were come to Iran for drugs and sex. But these individualls were also merchants. They brought car-wracks to Iran, sold it, spent a "nice" time in Iran and had stil mony to fly back home to report how silly Iranians are. Thanks heaven those days are over and today Iranians only are master in their Home. The Pics are wonderfull. I have no tears in my eyes. I am happy for Iranians who live in Iran and can call the country their own. It is very bothering to me when I read in "IRANIAN" likewise words OUR COUNTRY, OUR IRAN, and so on. I mean only those Iranians has the authority to speak so who live in Iran but not those who live in Abroad and some of them do not even posess Iranian Identity papaers. Greeting

So, was it a correct assumption? If you can't read Farsi, I'll be happy to find you an English description or translate a bit of this for you. Shahgoli is a beautiful monument with gorgeous grounds, a true place of rest and joy for residents of Tabriz. I went there as a tourist about ten years ago. My trip to Tabriz has left many good memories in me.

I assume you can read Farsi. Take a look here on Farsi Wikipedia: شاه گلی (استخر شاه) سابق و ایل گلی (استخر مردم) فعلی از گردشگاه‌های زیبا و دلکش است که در جنوب شرقی تبریز، بر دامنه تپه‌ای واقع شده‌است. مساحت استخر بزرگ ائل گلی ۵۴۶۷۵ متر مربع است. در جنوب آن تپه‌ای است که آن را از بالا تا پایین همسطح استخر پله بندی کرده و نهر آبی از آن به طرف پایین روان است. از سمت جنوبی و از وسط استخر خیابانی کشیده شده که استخر را به صورت شبه جزیره‌ای درآورده‌است و در مرکز استخر، عمارت باشکوه دو طبقه‌ای ساخته شده‌است. در پیرامون استخر از روزگاران قدیم، درختان کهنسالی سر به هم آورده که انعکاس عکس آنها در آب، به زیبایی آن محوطه می‌افزاید. تمام تپه‌های جنوبی استخر به شکل بسیار زیبایی چمنکاری و گلکاری شده در روزهای گرم تابستان استراحتگاه مردم تبریز و مسافران سایر شهرها است. نادر میرزای قاجار می‌نویسد: «این آبگیر در اوایل حکومت قاجار ملک یک سلسله از سادات تبریز و انباشته از خاک و ریگ بود. قهرمان میرزا پسر هشتم عباس میرزا نایب السلطنه که در آن هنگام حکمران آذربایجان بود، آن ملک را در مقابل سالی سی و پنج خروار غله بخرید. سپس در آبادی و عمران آن همت گماشت». و از اعتمادالسلطنه نقل است که: «عمارت دریاچه عبارت از کلاه فرنگی دو طبقه بسیار آبادی است و بزرگی این دریاچه به درجه‌ای است که به قدر دو آسیا سنگ آب در آن وارد می‌شود ولی مدت شش ماه از آب پر می‌گردد.» در مورد تاریخ بنای این عمارت اطلاعات مستندی در دست نیست. در بهار سال ۱۳۰۹، که هنوز استخر و طبقهٔ پائین عمارت آن باقی بود از طرف شهرداری تبریز تعمیر گردید و از اواخر اردیبهشت ماه به صورت گردشگاه عمومی شهر در آمد. عمارت فوق در سال ۱۳۴۶ به علت کثرت رطوبت و فرسودگی تخریب شده و به جای آن در سال ۱۳۴۹ بنای عمارت زیبای دو طبقه‌ای با همان طرح قبلی ساخته شد. در روزهای پیروزی انقلاب این بنا تعطیل شد ولی در سال‌های اخیر مجدداً بازگشایی و مورد بهره برداری قرار گرفته‌است. http://fa.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D8%A7%D8%A6%D9%84_%D...
