Photo essay: A party in honor of Mohsen Namjoo

by Jahanshah Javid

Local artists Shadi Yousefian and Ardalan Payvar hosted a party in honor of Mohsen Namjoo three weeks ago -- the night before his first (brilliant) U.S. concert in San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts. Namjoo was shy, kind, gracious and often smiling. He did not sing, but he inspired the musicians and music lovers who were there that night, including Arash Sobhani from Kiosk and mezzo-soprano Raeeka Shehabi-Yaghmai. They sang everything from Golpari Joon to Carmen!
