I am looking forward to the London Games! Can't wait!
She is doing it for Iran
by iamfine on Sat Jun 30, 2012 08:07 PM PDTMaryam Tousi is a true Iranian. With all those limitations she is still able to put our country (I am not talking about IRI) on the top spot.
With best wishes....
by Bavafa on Sat Jun 30, 2012 05:38 PM PDTShe is a living proof that despite some limitations, Iranian can still excel.
I wish her all the success and victory.

You go girl!
by Nazy Kaviani on Sat Jun 30, 2012 03:07 PM PDTMaryam Tousi, the beautiful and special daughter of Iran, run, run, and make history. Your courage and grace under inhumane conditions is commendable and a source of pride for me as an Iranian woman. Thank you for enduring not just the forced hejab, but all kinds of other unfair pressure and treatment, including the ridicule of Iranian men. Hang in there, persist, and show the world the stuff Iranian women are made of. I am cheering for you.
Beyond gold!

How ridiculous does that look?
by Reality-Bites on Sat Jun 30, 2012 02:05 PM PDTI feel so sorry for Iranian women that have to put up with this medieval backward nonsense that has been forced on them and on the whole country for that matter.
Anyway, I wish her success. All that training and hard work, just to be laughed at. Not nice.
Running with Hejab Unfair Advantage
by bahmani on Sat Jun 30, 2012 09:59 AM PDTI wonder if running with a tight hejab gives you an added aerodynamic advantage. The IOC needs to look into this, because if it does, that could be an interesting reason to disqualify Islamic women who insist on supporting their own oppression by agreeing with the guy who originally invented the hejab for them to wear.
Plus, I can totally see her breasts.
