When Perverts Turned Converts!!

by G. Rahmanian on

A Sickening Phenomenon I saw was the conversion of many as born-again Muslims right after the revolution of '79 In Iran. The way some people became pious over night was amusing to observe. Their chastising of others who did not follow suit was even more ridiculous. Many of the same people or their children are probably the ones buying properties in the west, worth millions of dollars.

Give me a break!!!

by aliash on

You would think anyone who experienced the Iranian revolution would understand that all religions are all nothing but superstition!  If believing in a superstition makes Soraya happy, then so be it, but wish she would stop trying to convert people.  I could care less about your religion or any other religion for that matter.  There is no place for religion in the public space.

Great comments!

What a funny page to see here!

I find Azarin, And Faramarz and all other's comments so interesting!

The funniest one in my opinion, was the last comment from comments !

Very smart!

Good to know. Soraya's brother...

by comments on

Clifford Robert Olson, Jr., a Canadian serial killer who confessed to murdering and raping two children and nine youths, died from cancer last week. Before he died he told the reporters that he was talked with a pastor and he was forgiven.  He told all victim families are his brother and sisters.  If "they don’t forgive him, they will be f..ed up in hell. "

Where is your next destination Soraya?  Please keep the net updated.  We will make sure not to follow you.  So far we learned not to follow Islam and Chirstianity...

Gutsy

by Ali P. on

It is always difficult to break away from what you grew up with, and fundamentally, change your view towards the world.

I remember, as a kid, attempts were made to brainwash me, to support 'Taaj', instead of 'Persepolis'. Despite much pressure, I couldn't do it.

My litmus test, for civility,  is , if a person can abide by Democratic principles: Be what you want to be, just respect Democracy. Preach as much as you want; just don't force me into your beliefs.

Anyway. Oh, by the way, did anyone pick on her name? Soraya Esfandiari was the Shah's second wife.

Yours,

Ali P.

Changing your religion

by religionoutofgovernment on

I wish her luck and hope she is happy with her new life. But personally , it has always baffled me how people can let go of a set of fabricated mythological beliefs and adopt a whole new set of fabricated mythological nonsense. Since the power of brainwashing is greatest in childhood, your birth religion usually is the most difficult to repudiate. My guess is that you never form the same docile and submissive mental relationships with the new religion. There are usually 2 outcomes; either this is a duplicitous maneuver for personal gain, or the "belief" will be short lived as the same retrogressive religious principles will rise their despicable heads.

Arj

Divine interventions!

by Arj on

Why is it that all religious wackos are under the impression that they're chosen by god?! What about the million others (e.g. Bahais, Darvishes or even Christian converts) who are arrested, persecuted and even executed? Reminds one of the '700 Club' episodes in which the "believers" thank god for facilitating the sale of their stocks at a peak or selling their businesses just before the recession at the highest value! The question is; why should god choose them over the buyers? What if the buyres are religious nuts like themselves?! They're rather believers in the divine roll of the dice than anything alse, which makes it the ultimate case of selfishness and narcissism!

More power to her as long as she keeps it to herself and not try to force it down my throat.

All great comments here ...I specially like the one from Farmarz jaan

Very Annoying and Totally Brain-Washed

by Faramarz on

She reminds me of Jehovah Witness people who come to the door just to annoy you, and that hollow smile!

p.s. Leaving Iran on a plane and being greeted by an American in Southern California does not constitute a daring escape.

How about leaving on a horse in the mountains of Kordestan in the middle of winter with only a small bag and no passport and an uncertain future?

They all become free!

by darius on

Isn't that amazing that as soon as anyone convert from one religion to another  , they all become free, the spirit of God takes over  and fill them with joy? I am glad ,she finally  found happiness and freedom for herself and the family , I hope this is not another evanglical  production.

Ghormeh jan, you are the best in finding the lunatics on Youtube!! Thank you!

I think she really didn't need to flee! She could have stayed in Iran without having to jump from one form of fanatism to another!
