There are many people who are as extremist and dumb as the next. Yes there are Christians who are very narrow minded and religious. They are based on a lot of myths. Very similar ones mostly added over generations.

There is no question the Christian fundamentalists prose a real threat to reason. So do all other fundamentalists whom put aside reason. 

But there is still a difference and you can not deny it:

I can legally burn the American Flag or Bible in the USA. I may get *** for it but it is a legally protected right. I can make a movie making fun of Jesus and Moses anyone else.

I cannot burn the Quoran or "insult" Mohammad in a Muslim majority nation. Heck your own video post shows Jews are not allowed on the site of their OWN temple by their OWN government. Why: to appease Islamic fundamentalists.

Muslims by and large react mush more "forcefully" to anything they don't like. This is because of a basic difference in religious doctrine. They are all backwards but Islam takes way out there.

I have no doubt that Jones is a very nasty person. I have already said his act is wrong. He is deliberately provoking Muslims to violence. The aim is then to turn around and vilify them more. Thanks to good sense Muslims in USA have not made a big deal out of this. No riots; no crowds. Which exactly the right thing to do. It proves the opposite of what Jones says.

It proves that at least in America vast majority of "Muslims" are reasonable.This is the best way to ignore him. Muslims in other parts of the world as not always as moderate.

Now to my point on religion. My idea about religion has nothing to do with Jones. I do not base my agruments on Jones. I just do not think all religions are the same. I have given my reason for that and rest my case: :-)

The reason for the burning is obvious: to enrage Mulims. To Insult them and goad them into violence. Then he could say "I told you".  I would never burn the Quoran; American Flag or perform any other action like this.

However I totally disagree with the assertion that religions are the same. People my say what they want. But if you read the books Islam and Christianity are not the same. Saying something over and over does not make it real. It just means repeating the same thing.

    Your posts are great! I don't understand what Terry Jones wanted to accomplish? He wanted to show that his God is the only true God by burning Koran? He wanted to covert Muslims to Christians? He wanted to win over Muslims?

What I know is that his actions have united everyone including Obama, Clinton, Pallin, Gates, Petraeus, and Pope........they all told him that it is a bad idea to burn koran!

Thank you for your kind words. It is an interesting subject indeed but I am not sure if it deserves its own blog at this point while people in Syria, Libya, Bahrain, Iran, Yemen,..... are facing bullets , bombs, prisons and tortures....

I am told how good Christianity or Judaism are vs. Islam , I then see FOX media , Catholic Church or the situation of people in Gaza!....and say NOT !

All 3 believe in Ibrahim although non accept one another.

My arguments are really on a different line than Escape. I view "religion" as a much wider group of spiritual beliefs than the "heaven and hell" ones. But even among those Zoroastrian is not Abrahamic. In fact Judaism got the convept of heaven and hell from Iranians after Cyrus freed the Israelites. 

Abrahamic religions were originally Judaism and Christianity. In fact Jesus was a Jew and Christianity is a direct descendant of Judaism. Zoroastrianism developed on completely different lines originally. The similarities between them are due to close relationship between Israelites and Persians starting  over 2000 years ago.

Islam was a creation of Mohammad and Salman Farsi who cooked it up. To do so they took some from Judaism; Christianity and Zartoshti. Then added various Arab and other elements resulting in the creation of Islam. The distinguishing factor between Islam and Abrahamic religions is the characteristics of God and his orders.

Islam says it is perfectly alright to conquer others; rob them; rape the women etc. It also promotes taking of captives as slaves and treats them as lesser and najis people. Now honestly if there is a God why would he send such a message. If there is no God then the whole thing is BS anyway and why bother arguing about it. My arguments assume there is a God. If so I just do not see the God of Christianity be the same as Islam. They are too different in action and guidance.

I am afraid in the attempt to bring people together we are overlooking reality. And reality dictates that there religions could not be about the same God. Jesus was about as for as you get from Mohammad.

NO the God of Jews, Christians and Muslims are not the same. In fact God of no two persons are the excatly the same!!

As much as you wish to seperate these three religions from one another, they have more in common than differences. Even Christianity was used to be MUCH more militant than it is now . Of course Islam followed by Judaism are less tolerant .

But these three main religions believe to be decendents of Ibrahim and they are! As VPK stated there are so many other religions which are not....., and there are many religions that do not promote hell and burning in fire as punishment as these three Ibrahamic religions promote.

So when a non-tolerant Christian like this pastor ``burns`` Quran in fire after  ``judgement``, he is acting as his ``God``  and in his mind using Ibrahamic God´s prescriptions.

Which part of above sentence you do not get, I am at loss!
