by hamsade ghadimi on Wed May 26, 2010 05:23 PM PDTi don't think this practice was ever abolished. if it was, they forgot to inform the different schools i attended. i know for a fact that there were beatings in hashtroodi (boys), marjan (co-ed), dabirestan daneshgah meli (co-ed). i attended two of those schools. there were more beatings in segregated schools than co-ed. there was a famous short-tempered math teacher in tehran who taught in many schools. anyone remember mr. sajjadi also known as sooji karate?

This must be a rahnamaie or dabestan school, teachers would not dare do this in a high school.
And he was the teacher of the year in Qum
