The transparent or translucent pants don't bother me that much, but the hoods bother me a lot, they look oppressed. I hope they will be liberated from the mandatory IRI dress code soon. They really should make exceptions for athletes for the sake of their safety and well-being.

How can our women be athletic in restrictive clothing.  Who can see a ball being lobbed at them when you have a hijab blocking your peripheral vision. I'd like to put the men of the IRI in pooshesh monasseb.  I'm thinking straight jackets and muzzles.

Seriously, people who get excited from photos like these should be seeking psychiatric help.  I am sure there must be a proper name for this condition.  What is it with these extremist muslims that they can't control their own urges. 

Yes, It is shameful! But shameful only because the Iranian Volleyball team will probably be the hottest if not the best team in the asian volleyball competition.  These girls are probably the best looking girls in the competition but instead they had to cover it all up as if they have something to be ashamed of or to hide.

That said I applaud the Iranian women athletes who still make an effort and take part in these competitions despite all the nonsense they have to put up with.  If they asked the men's volleyball team to dress up like this, all of them would give up volleyball.

Those outfits (uniforms) were provided by the Islamic Repulic of Iran and those ladies are not at fault at at all. You can use some of your brain, if you have any, before commenting. Its not that a national volleyball team go shopping in the streets for their outfit.

Nothing wrong with her pants. The pants were see-through because of the perspiration. I agree with other bloggers that they would have won the game if they dressed like regular volleyball players. It is hard to win a match when you are wrapped around and suffocated like that. They were lucky that they did not get over-heated or heat stroke!

  The caption on this picture, "shame on you", (written by the Islamic Republic daily paper) is truly disgusting. It only reveals one of the many problems that women have to deal with in an Islamic Iran. I'd rather say Shame on the journalist for only seeing her pants, instead of her good skills playing volleyball, and her determination in pursuing something she is passionate about.
