Nazila Fathi, New York Times: Hundreds of Iranian protesters marched across the Brooklyn Bridge on Thursday carrying a mile-long green banner in a sign of solidarity with demonstrators in Iran. The protest coincided with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s trip to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly. They chanted, “Ahmadinejad is not Iran’s president,” and “hey-hey ho-ho, Ahmadi go home,” referring to Mr. Ahmadinejad. This was the third day of protests organized by the Iranian diaspora in North America, the largest since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which appeared to be the strongest sign of unity against the government of Mr. Ahmadinjad. “They are doing all they can do to make Mr. Ahmadinejad as uncomfortable as he can be,” said Hadi Ghaemi, the Director of the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran >>>

by American Dream on Fri Sep 25, 2009 10:50 AM PDTThe green represents the continuation of the theocracy. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be out of office in 4 years. That is 2013. The Iranian President after that will be in office for their 1st term in 2017. That will be 38 years. That will be the same amount of time that Mohammad Reza Pahlavi ruled Iran. Yet, the theocracy will be continuous.

American DreamER & Simin khanom; You must be out of towners!!!!
by zohrehR. on Thu Sep 24, 2009 07:48 PM PDTpeople crossing the Brooklyn bridge on the opposite side are PEDESTRIANS not protestors!!! Brooklyn bridge is always open to pedestrians' crossing. Never the Less, it makes no difference to you since you've had it from the highest authority that the GREENs were supported by Moussavi!!!!
as a Greener let me assure you that we are not supporters of Moussavi. We support and stand behind the People of Iran who started this movement and are paying the ultimate price for it; "THEIR LIVES".
So next time you want to criticize or dismiss the Green Movement ask yourself this question;
When was the last time I stood up for justice and freedom knowning that I may get raped or killed?
Let me answer that for you; N-E-V-E-R
PLO, Hammas...?

by siminkhanum on Thu Sep 24, 2009 03:31 PM PDTProbably the green ones are organized by Ganji and the group and the ones with or without shir o khorshid flags are organized through Persian Medias and not a particular person.
Interesting to see
by American Dream on Thu Sep 24, 2009 02:53 PM PDTNone of the people crossing the bridge the opposite direction of the green banner bridge crossing join the protest. Why? Because the Mousavi green movement is one big farse.
