Very Suspicious

This guy goes to different universities and students keep insulting him, throw shoes at him and call him all sort of nasty names.

At the same time, there are basijis in the audience who film these proceedings for future purposes.

The whole thing looks very suspicious. I.R. has used similar tactics before to identify "trouble-making" elements. That might be this guy's mission to gather information.

Ahmadinejad is on his last term.

In 2013, after the Iranian Presidential elections no one will remember Ahmadinejad.

Serious University students in Iran attend classes get their grades and graduate.  They stay away from these government speakers and their speeches.  These same students I speak of never attend friday prayer at Tehran University.  Some are Tehran University students and alumni.  If you fly below the radar in Iran and do not get involved in politics there, especially if you are a male...

you are granted a "get out of jail card" called an Iranian passport.  Those male students get those passports and leave the country.  They make it rich in the west.  And they go back for Nowrooz festivities for two weeks.

Ahmadinejad is all hot air and nothing to back it up with.  The real power in Iran is Ayat'Allah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

It is suspect why these former office holders visit the Universities in Iran.  They are probably trying to identify what they deem as trouble makers.  Those trouble making students are kicked out of school and become part of the job less individuals in Iran's population.  They eventually leave Iran and become refugees or seekers or asylum of european countries.  They leave Iran, never to return.

The brain drain in Iran is nothing new. 

The Universities do graduate physicians, engineers, and other individuals that fill needs of the Iranian population.  These are the people who did not get involved in any political activities at the University level.

That being said, I firmly believe that University protests won't change the political atmosphere in Iran.

I also believe Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his gang don't really control anything.

It is the police forces, the revolutionary guards, the basijis that are preventing change.  These forces only answer to Seyed Ali Khamenei.

Khamenei would dispose of Ahmadinejad when he is no longer of any use.  More or less Ahmadinejad is a distraction to the real power holder in Iran.

American Dream:

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's gang make the rounds all over Iran throughout the year.  The universities are of particular importance, because they want to establish their reach into the heart of dissent in Iran.  This guy has been making the rounds to several universities recently, receiving more or less the same response from the students.  This seems like a particularly bold reception (or lack thereof), however.  It is not his office or position that matters, but the fact that he is a messenger from Ahmadinejad's cabinet.  The students have been jeering any government official that has been making the rounds recently.

Why protest him?

He no longer holds an office worth protesting.
