WASHINGTON - JUNE 22: Former Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi choked by emotion when mentioning Neda (a recent victim of the brutal repression by the IRI ) during an address at the National Press Club June 22, 2009 in Washington, DC. Pahlavi, commenting on recent developments in Iran, called for a secular, parliamentary, and democratic political system in Iran.

To ALL of his supporters and admirers
by amirkabear4u on Thu Jun 25, 2009 07:20 AM PDTYou say he is a good politicion don't you? Well this is a plot to overthrow a backward regime which we all dislike;
Reza should announce to everyone in the world he is going back to Iran to help the situation. Before he goes back he should make sure all the major world news agencies know about it and broadcast his retrun.
Don't woryy getting there. Some of you may say this barbaric ghodaceia arabo islamic terrorist gvernment may kill him.
My response is, as much as I beleive they do not have much brain they know too well killing reza is a big mistake because he was a kid or too young when his family were at it before the revolution. In other words they do not have much to say and their only excuse would be he been talking freely about IRI that is why he was killed. This will act against them because so far they been trying to say they are democratic and that is why they have elections.
However the reality is far better. I and you would be very very surprised to see no one does anything. What this means his martyrdom would not be to vain and that would be the best think he has ever done.
Not finished yet. If they do not kill him, they arrest him which is even better because the oposition has a living hero. Even those who dislike him have to admit he is brave.
BUT he will not do anything because his heart and mind is not with the suffering people of Iran.
Finally, if he was killed;
- for his supporters there would be a cause to fight IRI more officially and at every level.
- for those who dislike him then one problem solved and there would be a cause to fight IRI more officially and at every level. In other words even his oposition can benefit from his death!!!
HIM BEING ALIVE DOES SERVE NO PURPOSE ANYWAY, but he can serve as a dead hero.
Pahlavi = old politics. My daddy was famous. I can be too!
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Thu Jun 25, 2009 05:29 AM PDTImagine if we weren't talking about the future of a nation, it might not seem so ridiculous, or would it?
See, my father was a famous nuclear physicist in Iran once, maybe I should be in charge of the nuclear program? I love nuclear energy and I think it's great. I think Iranians deserve it. I think it's clean green energy. Please! My daddy might have blown up Chernobyl, but it doesn't matter! Let's move on from that. I think saying the word "Nuclear" has a bad connotation in people's collective memory so I won't use it. How about I stick to "clean green energy"? I love nuclear energy. Let me give Iran nuclear energy.
What a joke.
No Mr. Pope - give Iranians credit
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Thu Jun 25, 2009 05:26 AM PDTAfter 30 years, it's better to move forward. The simple reasons that Reza stinks so badly are: IRANIANS CAN DO BETTER. IRANIANS DESERVE BETTER. Pahlavi = past. Iran is a new Iran, new people, new desires.
Talk is very cheap and easy. Maybe IF there was a revolution, he can move his ass to Iran and DO SOMETHING then show how deserving he is of people's attention/trust? Instead, he's having these conferences for because he's riding on his name - he wants monarchy and moftkhoree to be the policy all over again :) Who wouldn't!? Why would he have to answer that he hasn't done anything, when he can say - well nothing good, but i haven't killed anyone! I'm not IRI! See, I'm innocent. I like Freedom! Therefore, I'm THE man for the job. What a shame.
It is fun to make fun of him though, I admit. The donuts comment was funny, but it just goes to show you - no one takes this clown prince seriously, not even most monarchists.

My Humble suggestion
by capt_ayhab on Wed Jun 24, 2009 03:41 PM PDTIn order for people and Agha Reza Pahlavi to get the priorities straight I have a simple suggestion.
IF and WHEN throughout all these demonstrations in Iran someone can show one 10 second video segment that people are either carrying a sign that says [We Want Reza Pahlavi] or they are chanting something like[ Javid Shah, or We want Dynasty] then Reza Pahlavi can take the podium and lead us to freedom.
But until such a moment arrives, no matter how [AGHA] he might be according to some here, he needs to stop the speeches and UNDERMINING all those brave women and men on the streets.
I swear I will follow him with the first chant of javid Shah from Iran, but not from LA or IC. Ajibe ha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's be honest, he's got nothing to lose by doing this and Iranians have nothing to lose by him gaining.

I have listened to him before, and he didn't seem to have much of an accent.
But, we Iranians, don't trust someone who speaks English with an American accent (Remember Dr. Yazdi).
I think he deliberately - which is OK, I guess- played up his accent.

Tell this guy to go squeeze
by hommmmmmm (not verified) on Wed Jun 24, 2009 02:36 PM PDTTell this guy to go squeeze "Ab Goureh" for someone else. The fact that he has not been to Iran for 31 years, is out of touch with the people of Iran and does not represent the people in any ways should be enough for him to shut up. His dad fucked up the country by letting a bunch of mullahs take it over from him.... The son is even less charismatic and less competant than the father. If he even finds his way to a possition of leadership in Iran, he will do the grand teer and the stink will be huge.
He should go talk to Ms. Ashraf... Leave us Iranians alone.

ONLY IRANIAN PEOPLE IN IRAN DECIDE FOR THEIR FUTURE
by Mehrdad IR (not verified) on Wed Jun 24, 2009 12:25 PM PDTThe history of Iran is the best evidence that all the previous Kings and Shah were brought to the power by Western including UK and USA. Reza Shah was brought to the excil by UK. Shah was on the power thereafter. In late 70s when Shah disagreed to follow his authority figures the decision was made to remove him and in this case the western countries helped Khomeini to come back to Iran and on the other side they gave shah false promises to bring him back to power after khomeini's revolution. '
Even the so-called islamic revolution was established INDIRECTLY by USA when Jimmy Carter's secret agents came to Iran in 1978 to talk to military leaders at that time. They wanted that IRAN gets weaker and weaker because it was a great threat for benefits of USA in Middle East.
TRUE people like Dr. Mosaddeq were also eliminated by CIA.
We conclude that the Iranian People should decide for their own future not anyone else who is MOZDOUR of USA.
