Valentine's Day is an Iranian holiday

by Jamshid_Niavarani_IV on

Look at the History:

Valerian had been engaged in wars with Shapur I, the Sassanid king of Persia (reigned 241-72), by whom he was taken prisoner in 260 and put to death.

Saint Valentine’s Day, a holiday honoring lovers. It is celebrated February 14 by the custom of sending greeting cards or gifts to express affection. The cards, known as valentines, are often designed with hearts to symbolize love. The holiday probably derives from the ancient Roman feast of Lupercalis (February 15). The festival gradually became associated with the feast day (February 14) of two Roman martyrs, both named St. Valentine, who lived in the 3rd century. St. Valentine has traditionally been regarded as the patron saint of lovers.

Iranians gained Valentines Day with the conquest of ancient Rome.  St.  Valentine's Day is an Ancient Iranian/Persian Holiday.  After Islam was accepted by the Iranian masses St. Valentine's Day took on a religious feeling.  Some call it "Imamzadeh Haji Feerooz Day".

After the Great Iranian Revolution and the overthrow of the barbaric Pahlavi dynasty once again Iranians were free to celebrate St. Valentine's Day.

The Pahlavi Dynasty hated St. Valentine's Day because no one liked them.

It is an honor to see Iranians holding hands in Love.

God bless their love for humanity.  And God Bless America.
