Siamak you are too lonely. I

by Hooshang (not verified) on

Siamak you are too lonely. I don't mean that in a mean way. even if you are spending time with other people it is not a quality time. The consept of sprituality teaches children how to survive clamities of life regardless of how they acquired that spirituality (moslem, christ, etc). You are using it everyday you are just not educated about it.
No one can prove God to you, you have to discover God in yourself. You are angry about relgious people and you should be. But don't judge God and religion by the people who follow them. If they had been a good followers and good examples we would not have had so many fractions within a given religion.

LOL, do you mean Tooth Fairy? I love the way some of us Iranians suck at English.

Okh, Okh, Okh,

Okh, Okh, Okh, Okh...
Siamak,
I had the exact same conversation with my parents who tried all their life to passively convince me that there is no God, only material scientifically proven “things” exist and if I think enough I will know! Well guess what daddy cool, I am a mess! I pray to “Whom” It may concern when I am in deep shit, thinking who would have the last laugh: us, the atheists, or them the religious! The sad part is the religious would get the last laugh regardless of existence of god. If no god, no real laugh, we are all just dead anyway! I think what you should really be teaching your son is to know that life sucks, and this is the best thing about it! To those of you who are preaching: “it is important for the kid to choose when the time comes!” God bless you all, what the hell is choice anyway?

Let our children grow up and

by out in the open (not verified) on

Let our children grow up and decide for themselves at a more appropriate age... this is far too soon and indoctrination at this stage is not fruitful.

There's no harm in believing in the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus and ... for a while, gives them hope and gives them a happy childhood. They can decipher all at an appropriate age, like we did!

Nothing should be shoved down our throats at any time by anyone, not even parents who have the best intentions but sometimes up screw things !

Midwesty been in the west too long.

"Let’s try this. Let’s just subjectively look at one thing at the time. Let’s focus on definitions. OK? So from your answer, “Why would you accept something that you can't define in the first place is a better question”. I get that you do accept everything base on their definitions so tell me how you define love, beauty, art, music, logic, human emotions, and so on? You can’t but you still accept them, don’t you? So you are contradicting yourself!"

Nice over-analyzing, but sometimes things are much simpler than they seem. Try again.

A FORMER BASIJI

by yek Seda (not verified) on

Let not allow our children to just fall into religion for the sake of following past generation and space. I hope one day our children be free of any religion.
excellent job, well done..
BTW..How much weight have you lost so far?

It all starts with the Tooth Ferry

by MM (not verified) on

Well that is good. I start early telling my kids there is no god and religion is a man made thing. They are okay with it. The real challenge is telling your 5 year old there is no Santa. :)

I have to admit, very cute!

by Tahirih (not verified) on

Dear Siamak:
I have to say you and your son share the gift of talk, and he is very cute.
As you probably realized he is not ready yet. From age of 5 yrs on children are receptive to spiritual training, but mind you education can even start from conception!
I totally respect the fact that you are trying to educate your son to think for himself, and the concept of investigation of truth is so valuable to learn.
But ,your theory about peoples belief system being totaly effected by place of their birth ,could not be generalized.
for example I was born and raised as a shia muslim, but later in life when I was away from the place that I was born I changed my religion .
This change came by many years of studying and investigating.

Any way just a note ,otherwise ,the best of luck to you and family.
keep us up to date with your new diet.

Regards,
Tahirih

Doing what we can

by Ex-Muslim (not verified) on

I know how hard it is to approch the concept of Religion with children, but I think it is immportant for the kid to know that when the time comes, he can choose on his own or not choose at all. Also, we don't have to accept the religion we are born into. I strongly believe that it is to humanity's benefit if religions gradually fade away from man's mindset.

by Midwesty on

Let’s try this. So you are contradicting yourself!

I have no intention to argue with you on this subject because we’ll bore the reader to death and mainly because we get no where. However just to answer your smarty question I say I don't define God and I don't pretend to be logical about it either. That way I avoid misleading a young child. The subject of God’s definition and what it is or what it is not is not in the jurisdiction of logic but definitions are.

Why would you accept something that you can't define in the first place is a better question.

Abdy Sadri

Siamak & the concept of God

by Abdy Sadri on

An interesting conversation. With One side very confusing and the Other very clear, though side "One" tried to show a different picture, rather than trying to understand the "Other". I had total difficulties understanding Siamak. His mumbo jumbo seemed to even confuse young kooroosh who was talking clear sense and in everyone's language.

It is the first time I have seen someone trying to say that he knows what/who .. etc "God" is. I thought Moses told everyone not to think or try to understand  or imagine "it", and told everyone to forget about "it" and just comply to his Ten Commandments.

Dear Siamak, there is no shame in loosing to a much younger fellow. We all have a lot to learn.

Are U tawking to me? tawking to me?! U? me?

by Anonymouse on

Are you talking to us or to your son?  Your son seems to be interested in talking and wanting to say something but not about what you are talking to him about.  May I suggest you try this subject in a few years when he is at least in 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade?  How about posting a clip and talking to your son about what HE is interested in? I'm sure and it seems like he has a lot to say and I for one would be interested in hearing what interests him.

This is the worst way to teach them about God and religion!

by Roasted duck (not verified) on

Please don't treat your children's moral foundation like a duck roasting recipe on your video show! This is the worst way to teach them about God and religion! You need to have a structured conversation to teach them what's what! SOund bites meant for Internet video are the worst way!

Entertaining and education all at the same time

Great Clip, a few adults could learn from this.

Thanks for sharing it, its always fun to watch your clips.

They should have a Richard Dawkins camp for kids so that their minds don't get corrupted by religion from an early age.

Why are you trying to

Why are you trying to dictate what "YOUR" beliefs are on to your child and at this age?
I didn't think you were that much of a dictator!
Think baba, think before you start sounding like a devout religionist in reverse!
