Iran sentences seven Iraqi pro-Baath terrorists to death - Yunesi
TEHRAN, Sept 29 (AFP) - Seven members of a "terrorist network"
in Iran "sponsored by the Iraqi Baath party" have been sentenced
to death, Intelligence Minister Ali Yunesi said, cited by the official
IRNA news agency late Thursday. "Twelve people belonging to a vast
terrorist group were arrested recently, and seven of them have been sentenced
to death. Strong documents and proof exist in this relation," IRNA

Iran says progress made in talks with Iraq
CARACAS (Reuters) - Iran and Iraq held their highest level talks in
nine years on Friday and a senior Iranian official said afterwards they
had made good progress on settling their differences. ``We discussed every

Egyptian minister visits Iran

Backers of female presidential candidate name second hopeful

First Egyptian minister in 21 years to visit Iran

Iran sought secret talks with Israel: ex-foreign minister
JERUSALEM, Sept 26 (AFP) - High-ranking Iranian officials tried last
year to launch secret talks with Israel, Tehran's arch-enemy, but were
rebuffed by the Jewish state, former Israeli foreign minister David Levy
was quoted as saying Tuesday. "Sources close to the Iranian government
tried several times last year to enage in a secret dialogue with Israel,"
Levy told the daily Yediot Aharonot, adding that he had "categorically
