The second conference on "Cinema and the Middle East" will

The Second Series of Workshops On Contemporary Persian Literature: 1st
Workshop: Persian Stories in the Period of 1960-2000 (1-10Nov,2000). 2nd
Workshop: Contemporary Persian Poems (11-20 Nov, 2000)
The University of Guilan intends to hold the second series of Contemporary
Persian Literature for the purposes of expansion of Persian language and
literature as well as familiarizing with Persian literary movements. These
workshops are dedicated to the survey of contemporary Persian stories and
poems.

The 19th annual conference of the Center for Iranian Research and Analysis
(CIRA) will be held at the University of Toronto, Canada, on April 28-29,
2001. The theme of the conference is"Iran : Between Tradition and
Modernity". Submission of papers and proposals for complete sessions
on all topics related to Iran, the Middle East, and Central Asia are encouraged.
