U.S. worried about Russian plans to sell arms to Iran

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States said on Thursday it was very worried about reports Russia was planning to sell arms to Iran, saying they would pose a threat to its interests in the Middle East.``We are particularly disturbed by Russian press accounts that we've seen today of Defense Minister (Igor) Sergeyev's discussions with the Iranians which suggest that Russia is ready to sell Iran missiles, submarines and other equipment,'' State Department spokesman Philip Reeker told a news briefing >>> FULL TEXT

Russia, Iran say talks fruitful

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - The visit of Russia's defense minister to Iran opened a new chapter of military cooperation between the two countries and led to several agreements, he and his Iranian counterpart said here Thursday. Khamenei threatens to take action

TEHRAN, Dec 27 (AFP) - Iran's supreme leader on Wednesday threw down the gauntlet to the nation's restless reformists, warning "we will take action" if their sharp criticisms of the regime's institutions continues. Russia to obey arms-sales agreement

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - Russia's defense minister said Wednesday his country will abide by international agreements concerning arms sales to Iran, but added that won't preclude some arms deals, the state news agency reported. US court orders Iran to pay 311 million dollars for dissident's killing
