* Iran In Talks On S Pars Gasfield With Shell,Gazprom-Paper
April 13, 2000 TEHRAN -(Dow Jones)- Iranian oil officials are negotiating
the development of phases four and five of the South Pars gasfield with
Royal Dutch/Shell (RD) and OAO Gazprom (R.GAZ), the " Iran Daily"
newspaper quoted an oil ministry source as saying Wednesday. " Iranian
officials are holding talks to finalize a buyback contract worth $1.5 billion
for the development of the gasfield with an oil consortium led by Royal

* Study finds oil prices will fall
LONDON (AP) - Increased OPEC oil production and a mild winter that eased
consumer demand for heating oil are contributing to at least temporary
relief from painfully high crude prices, according to a respected industry
study. Oil prices have fallen since OPEC members agreed last month to open
the spigots on exports, adding 500,000 new barrels per day and giving refineries
an incentive to buy more of the oil they need to make gasoline, the International

* Two Japanese sentenced over illegal exports to Iran
TOKYO, April 12 (AFP) - Two Japanese businessmen were given suspended
two-year prison terms Wednesday for illegally shipping parts for anti-tank
rocket launchers to Iran. The two, former directors of the trading house
Sun Beam K.K. in Tokyo, were also fined 1.5 million yen (14,150 dollars)
each in the case which has also involved three Iranians, including a former

* Iran doesn't see OPEC output hike in June
DUBAI, April 12 (Reuters) - OPEC power Iran said on Wednesday that it
did not expect the group to hike output at its next production policy meeting
in June. Iran's OPEC Governor, Hossein Kazempour Ardebili, also told Reuters
by telephone from Tehran, that Iran wanted oil prices at the upper end

up currency exchange transactions as part of attempts to liberalise the

* Oil falls despite Saudi rollover signal
LONDON (Reuters) - World oil prices fell more than a dollar on Monday,
beaten down under a wave of selling pressure and despite bullish Saudi
support for a possible rollover of OPEC production levels when the exporter
group meets in June. North Sea benchmark Brent blend crude futures were
down $1.25 at $21.33 per barrel in London after touching a low of $21.30,
