These are two songs -- "el-Bent
esh-Shalabyyah" and "Zorouni" --
performed by Googoosh in Baghdad back in 1975 in front of an
audience comprised
of top Iraqi dignitaries celebrating the anniversary of the Iraqi
republic. The concert took place a few days after Iran and Iraq
signed a peace pact over the disputed Arvand Rood/Shat al-Arab
waterway
at the
tip
of the Persian Gulf. The songs have historical value -- but
sorry for
the low quality.
