Alexander the Great seen here paying his respects to the corps
of Darius Codoman's wife. This painting is inspired from the
series of the Triomphs of Alexander the Great by Le Brun. Painted
in Rome it bares the footnote .LAGRENEE PINXIT ROMAE 1785. It
was bought by King Louis XVI of France and was exposed in
1785 in Paris.
