On June 8th 2005 women were finally allowed to watch a football
match in Azadi stadium for first time since the 1979 revolution.
This was not a change in policy, but rather a retreat in the face
of women protesters demanding the right to be inside the stadium
just like men. And it was a special day: Iran defeated Bahran 1-0
to qualify for Wold Cup 2006 ion Germany.
