This is how it happened.
Thursday night (May 20), Shirin Ebadi gave a speech at
the Crowne Plaza hotel in Palo Alto, south of San Francisco. Dinner
was served and the invited guests
came up one by one to shake her hand. My
turn came, I shook her hand and said, "Salam, man Jahanshah
Javid hastam az iranian.com..." She smiled
and said, "Farhang
maa raa hemaayat konid (support our culture.)" Then my
wife asked us to turn around for a picture. That
was it. And then the next fan jumped in to meet the Nobel laureate.
