In an interview actor and producer David K Zandi brought up Oliver
Stones Alexander film, apparently he was asked to be Darius
III, Shah of Persia and he auditioned for it, since he's
Persian born and has major skills in sword fighting and is champion
equestrian. But he decided to not do it, because he really wanted
to be Darius for the one Baz Luhrmann is making with Leonardo DiCaprio
and Nicole Kidman, he said he really was interested in what Baz
and Dino De Laurentiis were doing with their project and it would
be worth the risk in waiting. He said it would be one of the greatest
epics to come out. He also confirmed that Stone's Alexander
hired some Israeli model Raz Degan) to be their
Persian King.
