My lover leaves the last breath of our injured faith
in the ruins of his conquered lands.

Regally unforgiving,
regally
as if death
has never befallen kings.

 

I will be reading poetry at Claremont Branch Libraryin Berkeley, CA, (Saturday October 21, 2-5 PM). In persian and free entrance. Hope to see you all there.
