Golestan knew my grandfather Abdol-Reza Javid in Shiraz. I asked him if he remembered anything about him? He recalled something funny he had heard from my grandfather himself, about greeting his boss, Mr. Reed, on the phone.

From Creme de Menthe to Dizi to Iranshahr
Golestan described faloodeh with a French mint liquor called Creme de Menthe and Ali switched the subject to Dizi -- a popular restaurant off Iranshahr Ave in Tehran which only sells... dizi meat stew.

Chain reaction
Bicycle theft is a big problem in Amsterdam. This bike is chained to a bench, which is chained to a wall :o)
