1. Majid Majidi's movie, The Color of Paradise opens in the US. We have
a look at the movie and American critics reaction to the movie.
2. Exhibition of contemporary and avant-garde art at PS1. Called Greater
New York, the show is the first joint exhibit organized by Museum of Modern
Art and PS1 organization since their merger in 1999.
3. Persian music concert by Dastan Ensemble in New York's Symphony Space.
We have sampling of the music and short comments by Hamid Motebassen, the
composer. We discuss their work in an interview with ethnomusicologist,
Dr. Gholamhossein Jannati-Attai.

1. A report of the opening of the exhibition of a lifetime's work by
modern Iranian artist Monir Shahroudi Farmanfarmaian, whose use of mirrors
and glass and other traditional Persian architectural materials and designs
brought her fame in the 1970's western art world. She was also a major
collector of Persian folk art. The show was held at New York's Center for
Iranian Modern Art (CIMA).
2. A report on the performance of Kurt Weill's long lost and now revived
opera, The Eternal Road with 150 German musicians and singers at the Brooklyn
Academy of Music.
3. Interview and musical samples from Ms. Sussan Deihim, whose new CD,
entitled Madman of God was just released in Europe by Crammed Disc, a prominent
Belgian label for new music.

1. Interview with Prof. Peter Chelkowski, about his presentation last
Sunday in Metropolitan Museum of Art about
Nezami. He also talks about his visit to Iran last summer, where he
saw new performances of Tazieh and comments on the advancement on Tazieh
and research on Tazieh in the past 25 years.
2. Richard Serra's gigantic steel sculpture installation and a few other
current contemporary art exhibitions in the new, huge Chelsea area gallery
spaces.. leading to a news item about the upcoming Whitney Biennial showing
the work of Iranian artist, Shirin Neshat. 3. A concert of the works of
Ms. Faranghiz Ali-zadeh, the Azerbaijani composer, who finds new ways to
use Azerbaijani mogham music in western style new music. We hear a cello
and piano duet and an orchestral piece, both faintly reminding us of Iranian
music.

of the ministry. This is Mr. Abdoh's first interview with a Persian speaking
radio about this book.

1. An interview and a musical sampling of the work of Sassan Ghahri
an Iranian composer and producer of several kinds of electronic and ambient
music, made with eastern traditional music samples. He has produced, composed,
made or collaborated on more than 80 CD's in the past 15 years. About 20
CD's of his own music and his collaborations with others. He runs his own
independent record label, Baraka Foundation, which is distributed in the
US by Caroline Records. In the piece, we re-assemble a piece made with
a sample from Persian tar. A visit to New York Museum of Modern Art's major
exhibit, Modern Starts, about the first 40 years of modern art.
3. A report on the documentary by Errol Morris about Fred Leuchter,
an expert in execution devices who became involved with Revisionists who
deny the holocaust.

1. Choral music in New York at Christmas time: We visit three important
churches, as well as Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center for the 2,500
strong Sing-in of Handel's Messiah.
2. With Esmail Khoi, the contemporary poet in exile. Khoi gave us a
good interview. I also talked to Dr. Karimi-Hakkak, and there are three
poems, mixed with music. His poem about the Italian village, Borjo Verezzi,
complete with a piano piece played by Charles Mingus, the jazz genius,
and a lovely poem about M. R. Shajarian, with which we hear pieces of the
Abu Atta, played by M. R. Lotfi and M. R. Siavoush Shajarian.
